Skills

Leadership and Teamwork

In the final year of University, I took the role of project manager in the module, Client Focused Systems Development. The project that needed to be completed was a website for a client. In this role, I was responsible for planning tasks for all team members, and organising meetings, in addition to our allocated lesson times. I also was able to help all members within the team with any tasks when required to do so. In the workplace I have recently started training and supervising a new colleague on the games department.

Communication

Speaking and listening skills were used when liaising with our clients, when defining what their exact needs were. Skills are frequently utilised in the workplace, assisting customers with queries in store, and over the telephone, to help find products required.

Web Skills

Extensive experience of XHTML 1.0 and 1.1, CSS, SQL, and where possible, complying with web standards, and ensuring web sites are accessible as outlined by the WCAG guidelines. Experience of AJAX, XML, JavaScript and PHP have also been gained from University from modules including Web Scripting, and the Final Year Project. Experience of using C#.NET was gained from University during the modules Enterprise Web Development 1 and 2, and I have a desire to build upon this knowledge, and develop my skills further using C#. I also have a great understanding of SQL and mySQL from a number of past experiences.

Computing

Excellent ICT skills, including word processing, spreadsheets, and databases. Extensive experience using Adobe software such as Dreamweaver, and Photoshop. Experience using Visual Studio.NET has also been gained. I have also built a PC from scratch, and setup a wireless network at home, which includes a shared wireless printer.
